My good friend and filmmaker TK McKamy has started a style series project. The project basically consist of short videos shot in cool locations and explores the usage of lighting and composition within the video. When I got the call to come help out/hang on the shoot, I couldn’t resist bringing my camera to snap a couple of shots for myself. All of the shots used only available light from the carnival. Since this past shoot, TK and I have talked about teaming up on future style series shoots and allowing the photo and video go hand in hand meaning I’ll be able to use lighting. I will say however, there is something quite fun and challenging about using only available light in darker places. It really causes me to think in an entirely different way about what will work for what I’m shooting and what will not.
